The effects of aging, sun damage, and exposure to the elements all take a toll on our bodies over time, especially on the facial skin. These changes often prematurely show the signs of aging, or may actually make one appear older than they really are. A chemical peel can actually reverse many of the signs of aging, and is an integral part of a comprehensive skin care program.

Chemical peels work by removing the top layer of old and damaged skin, and allowing a new layer to grow beneath it. In doing this, a tightening of the skin is achieved, which aids in removing fine lines and wrinkles. The skin especially responsive to this is the skin around the eyes. Areas of uneven coloring, age spots, and sunspots are also well treated by chemical peels, especially when these are combined with an ongoing skin care program.

A variety of chemical peels can be done to achieve the desired effects. Superficial or “lunch time peels” can be done on nearly a weekly basis to maintain a healthy glow to the skin. Medium depth peels require approximately one week to recover, and when performed several times a year, offer good results and can reverse the signs of aging. Deeper chemical peels can be used to treat problem areas around the mouth and around the eyes
