Many women wish to enhance the appearance of the lips by obtaining a fuller, more “pouty” look. Full, sexy lips go a long way in making a major first impression. Lip augmentation can be performed using several techniques, depending on the patient’s desires. A variety of implants can be used to provide a look that is both full, yet natural. Options include AlloDerm, the patient’s own tissue, or commercially available lip implants. I often will “custom-fit” an implant, depending on what areas of the lip my patients desire or need the most effect. Many patients choose to view a computerized simulation or have temporary collagen injections to "try on" their new lips and then decide which look is best for them.
