| Many
factors can cause changes in the eyes
that result in a “tired” look,
or generally cause one to look older.
The first step in choosing which procedure
to perform involves a careful examination
of the eyelids and surrounding skin to
best determine the problem. Computer imaging
can be used to simulate your new look
after surgery.
Most eyelid surgery involves removing
excess skin of the upper and lower eyelids,
along with excess fat that contributes
to “bags” under the eyes.
Sometimes the existing fat is simply repositioned
to improve the appearance of the lower
eyelid and upper cheek area.
This procedure can be safely performed
in the office using a combination of local
anesthesia and intravenous sedation. You
will be awake, but relaxed for the procedure.
Recovery from eyelid surgery occurs in
about one week, and camouflage makeup
can be worn to cover any residual bruising.
